IOVS publishes ahead of print "Minor influence of Myopic Laser In Situ Keratomileusis on the Posterior Corneal Surface" by Alfonso Perez-Escudero, Carlos Dorronsoro, Lucie Sawides, Laura Remon, Jesus Merayo Lloves and Susana Marcos.

The study shows minor changes of the posterior corneal surface shape after LASIK (primarily on the vertical meridian, and only significant on the first day after surgery). Measurements were performed using a Scheimpflug system, validated using a new hybrid porcine/plastic model.
